The UND Radar Web page is served from the Aerospace Atlantis Web server. The IRIS software on Radar2 creates gif images and places them into the appropriate directories within /usr/iris_data/.
On Atlantis, the get_radar.bash script is run each minute by the cron to fetch gif image from /usr/iris_data/gif on Radar2. Files that are not on Radar2 are removed from Atlantis.
On Radar2, the gif_script.bash is run each minute by the cron to archive older than two day files from /usr/iris_data/gif_*/, where '*' represents different product directories.
During the summer semester of 2026 the UND radar was upgraded from RVP8 to RVP9
