Not Getting House Keeping Data

Date

September 16, 2009

Problem

Not getting house keeping data in the lab using M300 with the HVPS we received from NASA. Laser turns on but all we get is -29.0 for all house keeping data.

Cause

Missing conversion cable from IDC cable end to DB25 cable. See

Incorrect Test Images

Date

Tests on September 1 and 2, 2010 confirmed that invalid test images are being produced by the HVPS.

Problem

Running BBs through the HVSP on ground tests produced images like the following.

This is a typical image of running a BB through the HVPS. It did not matter what area the BB was passed through the images was always the same.

Problem

	* Late July: HVPS probe was attached to M300 and M300 system was receiving housekeeping data for a while. Later, no data was being received and probe laser would shut off when probe was connected to computer.

	* Cable connecting HVPS and M300 was tested for continuity by Aaron Ness and determined to be in working order.

Date

September 2004: MPACE Project Updated October 19, 2004

Problem

Sometimes when you turn on the HVPS the M200 data system locks up once it gets the first data buffer from the probe. The first data buffer is sent out within about 10 seconds of turning the problem on.

Date

Problem was on the March 26, 2010 flight.

Problem

The M300 tables were configured to only record type 53, 6, 10, 11 data from the HVPS. The time information (type 7) was not recorded. This makes processing impossible since we don't have time information for the images.

The maximum TAS for the HVSP is 50 meters per second. Since the Citation aircraft TAS is greater
than 50 meters per second, the TAS sent to the HVPS is modified. The result of these modification
is that the aircraft data system uses a HVPS pixel size of 400 um and the TAS received from
the HVPS probe has to be multiplied by 2. The reason for this modification was given to David
Delene on October 8, 2004 by Darren O'Connor, Senior Systems EE, SPEC Inc., 303.449.1105 Voice,
303.449.0132 FAX,
