TDL Monitor Setup
This page gives step by step instructions to connect the TDL to a monitor to further access the TDL's on board computer.
- Step 1: Start by getting appropriate supplies to connect the TDL to a monitor. This includes the connector between the TDL's computer board to VGA output which can be found in the TDL supplies box, a keyboard with a DIN connector, a VGA female to female extension cable, and a monitor with a VGA port.
- Step 2: Remove screws on the top of the TDL.
- Step 3: Connect the keyboard with the DIN connector to the TDL to keyboard chord that is inside of the TDL housing.
- Step 4: Connect the TDL to VGA monitor cable to the 10 pin connector on the second from the bottom board. This pin output is pointed towards the digital display screen on the TDL.
- Step 5: Connect the VGA extension cable to the TDL to VGA cable and then to the monitor of choice.
- Step 6: Power on the TDL and there should be a screen output on the monitor of the computer on the TDL starting up.
Trouble Shooting: If no display there are a couple of different reasons for this. One, the TDL to VGA cable is connected to the wrong pin out put. Make sure that the TDL to VGA cable is connected to the output pins that are pointed towards the electronic display screen and on the second board from the bottom in the control board stack. Two, the DOC that is on board the TDL may have failed and needs to be replaced this is discussed in a problems/solutions page of the TDL on the Wiki. Third, it could also be possible that the keyboard is incorrectly connected, this was also documented as being an issue with no display coming out of the TDL.
