How to Set Up
Parts
The Hydreon RG-15 has a few key components when it comes to setting up the instrument.
- Sensor - Collects data
- Power Adapter - Connects to a 12V 2A DC Power supply
- Serial Adapter - Allows the Raspberry Pi to read sensor data
- Wires - At the end of the cord, there will be six (6) exposed wires of the following colors:
- Orange - TXD
- Green - Ground
- Yellow - RXD
- White - 3.3V Power
- Red - Power (positive)
- Black - Grounding power (negative)
Setting up the Probe
By now, you should have your Raspberry Pi computer completely set up, with a DAQ HAT. To continue, you will need:
- A Serial to USB adapter (DB9-USB)
- Connect the power adapter to a DC power supply as given above.
- Connect the power adapter to the red and black wires
- Connect the remaining wires to the serial adapter as given above.
- If you have properly set up the ADPAA and DAQ HAT, you can now run the python program that coincides with your instrument and observe the data.
