General Information

  • The printer is a Prusa Core One +
  • There are a multitude of types of filament (plastic) that the printer can print. Some plastics, such as ABS, can produce toxic / harmful vapors. The printer is currrently not equipped with an advanced filtration system, meaning these plastics SHOULD NOT be printed in the printer. First-Time User Setup

Prusa Slicer

  • A slicer is the software used to turn the 3D model you want to print into “instructions” that the printer can read. The easiest software to use with the printer in our lab is called PrusaSlicer. The software is available for Windows, Mac, Linux, IOS, Android, etc. The setup process can be found here: https://www.prusa3d.com/p/prusaslicer/

Important Information

  • When setting up PrusaSlicer, ensure that you select the PRUSA Core One profile, with the 0.4HF Nozzle.
  • There is a multitude of different materials available for printing that require different profiles. BEFORE printing it is incredibly important you verify the type of filament inserted. Damage can occur if the hotend is not heated to the appropriate temperature for the type of filament.
