Gibson Ridge Software is used to display real-time or archived Level 2 or Level 3 radar data.
GR2Analyst software is installed on the following Windows 7 computers located in CH422:
These Windows computers are accessible remotely using Remote Desktop (more information here) to users that have been given access; however, GR2Analyst software requires advanced graphics that can not be run via a remote connection. There is no floating license available for GR2Analyst; hence, it can only be run on the computer where the license is installed.
GRLevel3 version 2.0 software is installed on the following Windows 7 computers located in CH422:
There is a standard Web address where all National Weather Service data is available and the a Web site where data from the UND NorthPol radar data is available.
To obtain data from the UND NorthPol radar, need to add its location in c:\Program Files\GRLevelX\GR2Analyst\radars.gis file. For example add the following line:
kund rdr1 47.922 -97.087 254 1 ND University of North Dakota
For GRLevel3 2.0 add the above line to Program Files/GRLevelX/GRLevel3_2/GIS/radars.gif file.
To make a cross-section of your radar:
You can make a cross section on any part of the radar by clicking on the cross section mouse.( This is the 12th button across the top)
To change the DBZ scale
You can change the DBZ scale by clicking view, set color table. You can pick from many options including dry snow, graupel, hail, rain, and wet snow.
