The servo amplifier takes the digital signal from the RCP8 and converts it to an analog signal. This signal is sent to the antenna to guide the azimuthal and elevational motors.
The servo amplifier is located in the penthouse of Clifford Hall between the RCP8 and the Green Transmitter Cabinet.
June/July 2010 - In the attempts to get the radar operational, several transistors and resistors had to be replaced in the elevational and azimuthal servo amps.
Summer 2011 - Replaced several aging components in the servo amp.
Summer 2011 - The pre-driver board was redesigned and two new boards were built to help keep components from failing due to too much current coming into the servo amp.
