June/July 2010 - In the attempts to get the OS and software upgrades working properly, conversations with SIGMET reveled that the RVP8 software version can not exceed 8.11.0. Therefore, the RVP8 version was downgraded to 8.11.0. Under SIGMET's advice, radar1 was also downgraded to 8.11.0. After this downgrade, there were several other events that helped to restore the operations of the radar. Communications were held with members of Environmental Canada that had a similar radar system (but not dual-pol), and they were running versions 8.12.3 on the host machine and 8.10.7 on the RVP8 with no problem. UND's radar system was run heavily and remained stable for several days. The IRIS version was then changed back to 8.12.5 on radar1 to determine if this configuration would still remain stable. The reason for wanting a new version on radar1 is because all other machines in the network had newer versions. The versions are incompatible in the real time display with the older version. Therefore, the real time image was not being displayed on the networked machines. This configuration was stable and has remained this way since.
