The THUM USB temperature and humidity sensor from Practical Design Group, LLC is used measure the temperature inside the instrument trail at the field site.
The manual for the THUM sensor in PDF format can be found at the link below:
The THUM sensor software creates a Web site file on Glacialridge2 (computer at the field site) in the C:\GR_DATA\THUM\html directory.
The C:\GR_DATA\THUM\html\temprh.htm files need to be transferred to the Web server to update the ./THUM/temprh.htm file. The temprh.thm file is accessed when viewing the Web site, http://glacialridge.atmos.und.edu/layout.php?page=trailer_temp page.
The cron (crontab -e) is configured on the Web server to fetch the temprh.htm file every 10 minutes via the ~/bin/get_temprh.bash script.
The configuration of the software to generate email alerts would not work. It would return an “Error 10061: Connection refused”. Tried it using three different email servers and three different computer systems. With and without authentication. Sent email to support@practicaldesigngroup.com asking for help.
