Problems and Solutions

October 20, 2010. Worked w/ Dave to communicate to the Rosemount Ice Detector. Found the db9 pin connector wired incorrectly. Re-wired the configuration so that the J-TXA = pin 1, K-TXB = pin 4, and M-Grnd - pin 5. Retrieved data from the sensor for analysis

November 09, 2010. Worked w/ Dave and Pavle on wiring / communications issues. Found our 9 pin connector configuration had issues. Re-wired it and made adapter / harness's as follows:

                                         grnd 5 - 5 grnd grnd 5 - 5 grnd
                                          rx+ 4 - 1 rx+ = RS422 - USB rx+ 4 - 1 rx+ = RS422 - M300
                                          rx- 3 - 2 rx- rx- 3 - 4 rx-

Data Example

The images below show basic features found within the Ice Detector frequency data, including a period of clear air flight, ice accretion, ice removal from the probe during a heating event, and sublimation of ice from the probe via sublimation.
