Use the following spreadsheet found under the /usr/local/ADPAA/src/openoffice_lib directory to find the actual supersaturation of the DMT CCN Counter chamber. Use the gnome-open command to open the .ods file, and edit the inlet pressure to find the supersaturation.
1) Perform a leak test (with hand vacuum pump–no more than 10 psi)
2) After fixing leaks, open green valve along the side of the counter
3) Make sure that the screen, keyboard, and mouse are plugged in to the side of the counter
4) Turn the machine on using the white switch on the side
5) Microsoft XP will automatically boot and SINGLE CCN 4.0.4.vi will automatically start
6) Counter will automatically start taking measurements when it has fully started
In the SS tab, supersaturation levels can be set by user
- Manual supersaturation: Counter runs on a user-defined supersaturation
- Automatic supersaturation: Counter cycles through up to 5 user-defined supersaturations
In the Flows tab, user-defined flow rates can be set
In the Chart tab, time intervals for the x-axes on the graphs can be set
In the OPC tab, real-time CCN counts appear in the CCN Number Conc. box
1) Click the Prog tab and click Shut Down and the program will exit
2) Insert a USB flash drive into the side of the counter
3) Click on the CCN DATA folder on the desktop and drag the desired files to the flash drive and eject when finished
4) Shut down Windows XP
5) After XP has fully shut down, flip the white switch on the side of the counter to the OFF position
