====== Laptop Connection to TAMDAR =====

===== Physical Connection to TAMDAR =====
  * Laptop with either Hyperterminal or TAMDAR Data Manager program installed.
  * RS-232 serial data cable (and USB to RS-232 cable if laptop does not have serial port).  No null modem.
  * TAMDAR switch set to 'PC' mode.

===== Software Connection to TAMDAR =====
==== Hyperterminal Connection ====
  * Open either the Hyperterminal and set the baud rate to 9600, all other properties to default.
  * Turn on TAMDAR.
  * TAMDAR will transmit 'AX' until either it has achieved satellite lock or timed out.  
  * If the TAMDAR has achieved a satellite lock, it will continue to transmit various codes to the satellite.  Otherwise it will do nothing.

==== TAMDAR Data Manager Connection ====
  * Open the TAMDAR Data Manager program and click the 'serial comm' tab.
  * Turn on TAMDAR.
  * TAMDAR will transmit 'AX' until either it has achieved satellite lock or timed out.
  * If the TAMDAR has achieved a satellite lock, it will continue to transmit various codes to the satellite.  Otherwise it will do nothing.
  * If you want to force an observation from the TAMDAR, go to 'Calibration' tab, then click on the 'Read All from TAMDAR' button.
